If you want the fabric to be not just a backing, but an integral part of your work, Zweigart's Dublin Linen is your fabric of choice. Unlike Monk's Cloth, which disappears under stitches, Dublin is designed to be shown. It's the perfect fabric for those "minimal" projects where you leave large empty spaces between embroideries, allowing the beautiful natural texture of the linen to shine.

With its 25 holes per inch, it's slightly more open than classic embroidery linens, offering surprising ease of use even for those who have never used pure linen before.

Why choose it for your artistic projects:

  • 100% Pure Linen: The nobility of the natural fiber can be felt to the touch. It has that irregular and "lively" texture that makes every square, bag, or tapestry precious.

  • The Transparency Effect: It's the ideal fabric if you love to let the weave show through. Light gently passes between the fibers, giving a light and poetic look to your creations.

  • Resistance and Softness: Despite its elegance, it's a Zweigart fabric: you can stretch it well on the frame and it will maintain its structure, welcoming the needle with unique softness.

  • "Raw" Aesthetic: The natural raw color highlights both warm-toned and more vibrant yarns, creating a sophisticated contrast.

Technical Specifications:

  • Composition: 100% highest quality linen.

  • Brand: Zweigart (Original German).

  • Density: 25 ct (about 100 threads per 10 cm).

  • Available Cuts: 70 x 50 cm or 140 x 100 cm

  • Color: Natural raw.

Compatibility:PERFECT FOR: Fine punch needles (like Lavor 2mm and 2.5mm) and medium ones (like Lavor 3mm). With these tools, the fabric performs at its best, holding the stitch perfectly.

It can also be used with the Lavor 4mm needle or with the Oxford Punch Needle Fine. However, being 100% linen, the fiber is more delicate than cotton: the pressure from these needles could widen the weave more easily. Also, compared to monk's cloth, it's a harder fabric, so you might feel more resistance and it could yield very easily on the frame. Keep this in mind if you decide to use medium-sized punch needles (4mm - Oxford Fine).

NOT RECOMMENDED WITH: Large punch needles (Oxford Regular or Lavor 5.5mm). These needles are too large and you would struggle too much to penetrate the fabric.

Our Advice: Being 100% linen, this fabric "moves" more than cotton blends. Make sure to use a frame with a good grip or a non-slip hoop. And remember: small knots and irregularities in the weave are not defects, but proof that you are working on real quality linen!

💡 YOU'RE NOT ALONE: Don't know if this fabric is right for the needle you already have at home? Write to me, tell me what needle you use and I'll tell you right away if it's the right match! Furthermore, on my YouTube channel, you'll find a video where I talk about this very fabric, comparing it to others available on my website.

Conscious Use: Working relaxed is important! For safety details (such as fabric flammability or advice when children are present), consult my Safety guidelines before you start.
